87-X5 Plastilease 334

Product Description

87-X5 Plastilease 334
is a creamy tan paste release agent that is superior for use with epoxy and phenolic resins. It works jointly as a sealer and a release agent. Ideal for use on porous mold surfaces. It facilitates easy release of molded parts, reduces rejects and also lessens wear on molds. This formulation is a precision blend of inorganic waxes, completely non-silicone and non-transferring, so it will not interfere with post-finishing or painting. It can be used at temperatures up to 500° F., an unusually high capacity for a release agent.

Application

87-X5 Plastilease 334 is easily wiped or spread over the mold surface, however it cannot be polished to a high gloss like most waxes. If rubbed vigorously when dry, it will crumble or wear away. It should be applied liberally, then rapidly wiped down to help close mold pores and develop a smooth gloss. When used over dry plaster, it may eliminate the need for a film-forming agent.

NOTE: For very stubborn release situations, many users have found unmatched results by blending together equal parts, by weight, of 87-X26 Mold Release 225 and 87-X5 Plastilease 334. This blend has been successful for filament wound or similar low-draft lay-ups where single agents have proved insufficient.
