87X150 Plastilease Fast Dry II Mold Release

Product Description

87-X150 Plastilease is a highly reactive, semi-permanent, mold release that bonds to fiberglass reinforced plastic molds for a durable release surface. Gel coats and polyester resins are released with a minimum of contamination providing clean, ready-to-use parts.

87-X150 forms a thin film which is especially advantageous for use on patterned surfaces such as non-skid areas where it won't clog the design.

Application

87-X150 Plastilease may be applied by brushing or wiping on clean molds. Care should be taken to wash off with acetone or toluene any traces of mold release wax. Traces of mold wax will interfere with bonding of 87-X150 to the mold surface. The mold release should be applied to clean mold surfaces and gently buffed dry. Five to ten minutes should be allowed for reaction depending on ambient relative humidity. Use six or seven coats with time for reaction after each application. A fresh treatment of 87-X150 can be applied without removing the remains of previous coatings of 87-X150. It is important to make sure the mold is completely treated (no missed areas) to avoid mold sticking. The container should be kept closed as much as possible to prevent premature reaction with water vapor in the air.
