Valspar
Composites has a history and heritage of color capability and expertise.
Our pigment dispersions, sometimes referred to as "tinters",
are used in many different applications. They can be used to add
color to FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic) parts such as cafeteria
trays, translucent corrugated panels, pultruded or matched metal
die molded parts for transportation or construction, gel coat manufacturing,
or anywhere color will add to the value of a part or process. Cast
polymer producers (manufacturers of cultured marble bathroom vanities
or the surfaces found in kitchens) appreciate the easy-to-use characteristics
of these products in automated mixing and dispensing machines.
While
most commonly used in unsaturated polyesters, Valspar Composites'
pigment dispersions exhibit very good compatibility in urethane
systems and are also used in some vinyl and epoxy systems.
Our
pigment dispersions are smooth, easy to pour, and blend evenly when
stirred into liquid resins. Opacity is obtained at pigment levels
of 3% - 5% depending on part thickness.
